The Sunset Phase of Life: A Call for Compassion

The sunset phase of life is often the most challenging for those burdened with uncared-for health. For the elderly who are frail, abandoned, and without any financial support, it becomes a time of unbearable suffering. Many of these vulnerable souls, with failing health, are left without food or shelter. In some cases, they are even discarded by their families, forced to survive on the streets—hungry, sick, and exposed to the harsh elements of weather and the dangers of traffic. Their pain is unimaginable, and for many, there seems to be no hope left.

But we believe every elder deserves dignity and care, no matter their circumstances. At our shelter-home, we offer a ray of hope to these neglected elderly individuals. We bring them in from the streets and provide them with food, shelter, and free medical care, ensuring they live their remaining days with comfort, dignity, and a sense of belonging. Our unique service model is based on three pillars: Philanthropy (Save), Volunteerism (Spread), and Partnerships (Support).

Currently, we are in an effort to support 3000 homeless elderly individuals in our Home for the Aged, but the need is much greater. To continue this mission of compassion, we are seeking support from those who believe in giving back to this often forgotten segment of society. The monthly cost to care for one elder is between Rs. 3,000 and Rs. 4,500, depending on their medical needs. In some critical cases, the cost may exceed this, but with shared resources, the burden is often lightened.
